My Education and Experience
Angela Peña is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and National Certified Counselor. She completed her undergraduate work at Southern Methodist University, and earned her Master of Science in Counseling from Texas Woman’s University. Angela obtained her PhD in Counseling from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She has worked in the non profit sector, serving victims of sexual abuse, assault, trauma, domestic violence, survivors of torture, immigrants and/or refugees, homeless, and AIDS survivors. Angela has been working in private practice since 2012. Angela has led various groups: adolescent self harm groups, expressive arts groups, adult survivors of domestic violence, self-esteem and/or relationship building groups. She has experience working with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. Currently, she serves as a professor at Texas Woman’s University.
Angela is a member of the Texas Counseling Association and the Texas Association For Counseling and Supervision.

Our approach to psychotherapy is practical, compassionate and results-focused. We offer individualized therapies for adolescents and adults coping with anxiety and depression, as well as those struggling with addictions.
Our marriage and couples counseling is tailored to the personalities of the couple and provides restorative, emotional attachment experiences that foster intimacy and closeness.
